Jazz in the Quad 2026

Jazz in the Quad (or as it became known for 2026, Jazz in the Jym) was a fantastic evening, finishing off Term 1 with a blast! Featuring our 5 ensembles taking part in Generations in Jazz, the audience were entertained by Fusion, performing Green Onions, to kick off the night.

While they enjoyed pizzas from Two Fat Blokes and warm beverages from ASAP Coffee, music from Jazz Choir 2 (performing their GIJ set of Just Work and One Hand One Heart), Dixieland Band, and Jazz Combo (performing their GIJ set of Night in Tunisia, Stars Fell On The Alabama, and On The Trail).

The somehow cosy gym (jym?) was a perfect venue to house the Division 1 Jazz Choir 1 as they performed their a capella set piece, Twenty Twenty One and own choice For All We Know before we rounded out the night with two powerhouse GIJ sets from Big Band 2 (Birk’s Works, You Don’t Know What Love Is, and Get It) and Big Band 1 (Rachael, Ascending, and Dance of the Zinfandels).
